  • Q: What is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC)?

    Essentially, a CCRC is a unique type of retirement community that offers maintenance-free living along with onsite health care: Independent Living, Assisted Living for people who need help with daily activities (dressing, bathing, medication assistance, etc.), Short- or Long-Term Nursing Care, and Memory Care.

    You have the security of all these services close at hand, whenever you may need them

  • Q: Are all CCRCs alike?

    No. Not all of them offer the full range of health services—Assisted Living and Nursing Care. Ingleside at Rock Creek does. We are also the only not-for-profit CCRC in Metro D.C. Our earnings go back into the community rather than to pay dividends to shareholders. As a result, we can invest more in services and amenities, health care staffing and technology, and other important areas.

  • Q: Is transportation available?

    Yes. We offer scheduled transportation to doctor’s appointments, shopping and worship services. We also have regular group trips to cultural events and venues.

  • Q: Do you allow pets?

    Yes, cats and small dogs are welcome. You can even have pets in Assisted Living—an exception among retirement communities.

  • Q: What do the fees cover?

    Entrance fees cover lifetime use of your residence and lifelong access to our health services. They also include the regular activities on our calendar, our community services and amenities and general maintenance. Entrance fees come with asset protection, offering levels of refundability to your estate.

    Monthly fees include ongoing services, such as housekeeping, your dining plan and more.

    Please ask us for complete descriptions of our fees and all the services they cover. The all-inclusive nature of our services is one of our points of difference.

  • Q: Who owns Ingleside?

    Ingleside is a not-for-profit community with no need to pay dividends to stockholders. We reinvest our earnings in ever-improving services and amenities that meet the highest standards—those of our residents. It has a volunteer board of directors headed by our CEO.

  • Q: Can I enter the community through Assisted Living?

    Yes, you can enter Ingleside through Assisted Living. Space is subject to availability as our Independent Living residents have first priority. Please contact the Marketing Office for more information.
